Movements
Automatic or quartz?
An automatic watch is powered by a mechanical movement wound by motion. A quartz watch uses a battery and typically needs less day-to-day attention. Choose the movement that fits how you plan to wear it.

Fit
Case diameter is a useful starting point, but the shape of the case, lug length, and strap also affect how a watch sits. Compare sizes with watches you already enjoy wearing.
Care
A water-resistance rating is measured under test conditions and does not guarantee protection at the same depth in everyday use. Check the manufacturer's guidance, keep the crown secured, and have seals checked regularly.
